Local Green Spaces – Public Consultation

The consultation is now closed. (It ran Wednesday 4th August to Wednesday 25th August 2021)

Following the call for Local Green Spaces earlier in 2021 the Steering Group is running a public consultation on eight sites that were nominated to be designated as Local Green Spaces.

The Criteria for Local Green Spaces set out in National Planning Policy Paragraph 100:

The Local Green Space designation should only be used where the green space is:

  1. In reasonably close proximity to the community it serves;
  2. Demonstrably special to a local community and holds a particular local significance, for example because of it’s beauty, historic significance, recreational value (including as a playing field), tranquillity or richness of its wildlife; and
  3. Local in character and is not an extensive tract of land
