The consultation is now closed. (It ran Wednesday 4th August to Wednesday 25th August 2021)
Following the call for Local Green Spaces earlier in 2021 the Steering Group is running a public consultation on eight sites that were nominated to be designated as Local Green Spaces.
The Criteria for Local Green Spaces set out in National Planning Policy Paragraph 100:
The Local Green Space designation should only be used where the green space is:
- In reasonably close proximity to the community it serves;
- Demonstrably special to a local community and holds a particular local significance, for example because of it’s beauty, historic significance, recreational value (including as a playing field), tranquillity or richness of its wildlife; and
- Local in character and is not an extensive tract of land
