To allow reinstatement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Staple Street, Hernhill.

A closure is planned from 8th June 2023, for up to two days, or where stated on a valid Permit (EB00638581315-04 – South East Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signage displayed on site and the works
will be displayed on One.Network

Staple Street will be closed in the vicinity of Fairbrook Cottage, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while reinstatement works are undertaken by South East Water.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Bull Lane, The Street, Stockers Hill, Canterbury Road, A2 Boughton Bypass, Brenley Corner, London Road, Canterbury Road, B2040 Love Lane, Whitstable Road, Graveney Road, Staple Street Road and vice versa.
