To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on parts of various roads, Swale & Ashford.
Closures are planned from 11th December 2023, with estimated completion by 22nd December 2023, between the hours of 20.00 hours and 05.00, Monday to Friday only, or where stated on valid Permit (GE40111313812, GE40111313813, GE40111313814, GE40111313816, GE40111313815, GE40111313818 & GE40111313817 – Kent County Council). with appropriate signage displayed on site and the works will be displayed on One.Network Works Schedule
A251 Ashford Road, Sheldwich & Badlesmere & A251 Faversham Road, Challock
A251 Ashford Road, Sheldwich & Badlesmere & A251 Faversham Road, Challock will be closed from 11th December 2023, with estimated completion by 16th December 2023.
These roads will be closed between the junctions with A252 Canterbury Road and Salters Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for any through traffic:-
For vehicles travelling Southbound is via A2 Canterbury Road, London Road, Brenley Corner Roundabout, A2 Boughton Bypass, A2050 Harbledown Bypass, Rheims Way, St Peters Roundabout, Rheims Way, A28 Wincheap Green, Thanington Road, Ashford Road, Canterbury Road, A252 Maidstone Road, The Street and Canterbury Road.
For vehicles travelling Northbound is via A252 Canterbury Road, The Street, Maidstone Road, A28 Canterbury Road, Ashford Road, Thanington Road, A2 Boughton Bypass, Brenley Corner Roundabout, A2 London Road and Canterbury Road.
A251 Buck Street, Challock, A251 Faversham Road, Boughton Aluph & Faversham Road, Eastwell
A251 Buck Street, Challock, A251 Faversham Road, Boughton Aluph & Faversham Road, Eastwell will be closed from 18th December 2023, with estimated completion by 23rd December 2023.
These roads will be closed between the junctions with A252 Canterbury Road and A251 Trinity Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for vehicles is via A252 Canterbury Road, The Street, Maidstone Road, A28 Ashford Road, Canterbury Road, A2042 Faversham Road and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while drainage works are undertaken by Kent County Council.
