Why take part?
Your views matter.
They want to hear from people with a range of experiences and opinions, whether positive, negative, or somewhere in between.
You do not need to have had contact with the police to take part. Every response helps build a better understanding of what matters most to local communities.
The survey should take around 10 minutes to complete and asks about:
- crime and anti-social behaviour in your area
- how safe you feel where you live
- experiences of crime, anti-social behaviour and police contact
- neighbourhood policing
- how effective and fair you think the local police are
- your trust and confidence in the police
The survey will help them understand what shapes public confidence in policing, how confidence changes over time and what impact neighbourhood policing has on local communities.
The findings will be used to help improve neighbourhood policing, inform policing policy and identify ways to build public confidence in policing across England and Wales.
Taking part is entirely voluntary.
You can skip any questions you would prefer not to answer, although they encourage you to answer as many questions as possible because every response helps improve their understanding of public confidence and policing.
