Monkshill Road, Hernhill (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & PEDESTRIANS) THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 TEMPORARY ORDER SEPTEMBER 2023


To allow rail foot inspection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic and pedestrians on part of Monkshill Road, Hernhill.

A closure is planned from 23.00 hours on 14th September 2023, with estimated completion by 06.00 hours on 15th September 2023, or where stated on a valid Permit (KL870VIR-54-77-140923-02 – Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signage displayed on site and the works will be displayed on One.Network

Monkshill Road will be closed in the vicinity of the network rail crossing, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while rail foot inspection works are undertaken by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via High Street Road, Huffkins Way, A299 Thanet Way, Staple Street Road, Head Hill, Head Hill Road, Seasalter Road.

A taxi service will be provided on site for pedestrians, due to there being no alternative route.
