Citizens Advice North East Kent

Good afternoon,

I’m writing to let you know that Citizens Advice North East Kent (CANEK) has now been formally established, bringing together services across Canterbury, Swale and Thanet into a single organisation supporting around 466,000 residents.

This change is a response to rising demand and increasing complexity in issues relating to debt, housing, benefits and employment, which are also placing growing pressure on local authorities and MPs’ constituency casework.

By operating at scale, CANEK is now better positioned to:

  • Provide faster, more coordinated support for residents across the three districts
  • Assist councillors and MPs with complex or cross-agency casework
  • Share local insight and evidence to support decision-making and commissioning
  • Work in partnership with public services and voluntary sector organisations to improve outcomes
  • Free, confidential advice continues to be available through local access points across Canterbury, Swale and Thanet.

We’d welcome the opportunity to offer a short briefing or discussion on local needs and how CANEK can support your work.

Further information is available at www.canek.org.uk and in the attached briefing.
