A291 Herne Street, Herne Bay (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 TEMPORARY ORDER JULY 2023


To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A291 Herne Street, Herne Bay.

A closure is planned from 18th September 2023, with estimated completion by 21st September 2023, between the hours of 20.00 and 06.00, or where stated on a valid Permit (KZ50092394590-03 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signage displayed on site and the works will be displayed on One.Network

A291 Herne Street will be closed in the vicinity of number 2, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while utility works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A291 Herne Street, Canterbury Road, Calcott Hill, Herne Bay Road, Sturry Hill, A28 Island Road, Staines Hill, Island Road, St Nicholas Roundabout, A299 Thanet Way, A291 Canterbury Road and vice versa.
