To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of B2040 South Road, Faversham.
Closures are planned on or after 6th April 2026 in phases, with estimated completion by 30th May 2026, or where stated on a valid permit. The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signage displayed on site and the works will be displayed on One.Network
Phase 1 – LQ003SWAT14445680-03
The road will be closed from 6th April 2026, with estimated completion by 10th
April 2026 at the junction with Leslie Smith Drive, to the extent indicated by
signs and barriers on site.
Phase 2 – LQ003SWAT14445685-03
The road will be closed from 23rd May 2026, with estimated completion by 30th
May 2026 at the junction with Leslie Smith Drive, to the extent indicated by signs
and barriers on site.
The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while utility works are undertaken by SOUTHERN WATER SERVICES LIMITED.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via B2040 North Lane, Conduit Street, Quay Lane, Court Street, Crescent Road, B2041 Newton Road, Station Road, Forbes Road, The Mall, A2 Canterbury Road, London Road, B2040 Ospringe Road, South Road and vice versa.
Resident access for Leslie Smith Drive is via Stone Street, Bank Street and vice versa.
All other access for Leslie Smith Drive will be diverted through the car park.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
