To allow inspection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Staple Street & Staplestreet Road, Hernhill.
Closures are planned from 16th January 2024, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or where stated on valid Permits (BC008PTMS477008A01 & BC008PTMS477008B – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signage displayed on site and the works will be displayed on One.Network
The roads will be closed from the junction of Chalkey Road in Staple Street to near The Orchards in Staplestreet Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while inspection works are undertaken by Openreach.
The alternative route:-
For westbound traffic is via Staplestreet Road, The Street, Stockers Hill, Canterbury Road, A2 Boughton Bypass, A299 Thanet Way, Whitstable Road and Staple Street.
For northbound traffic is via Staple Street, A299 Thanet Way, Canterbury Road, Stockers Hill, The Street and Staplestreet Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
