Faversham is beginning a new programme called Community Resilience, this entails how we prepare for, respond to and recover from local emergencies such as power outages, storms, floods and fires. We are in need of some kind and resourceful people who can help us communicate properly when emergency strikes and show people to a place of rest while the emergency responders take over.
There are many ways that you can help, these may include:
- Help run preparedness workshops with other volunteers
- Practice emergency drills
- Support shelter points
- Distribute supplies during emergencies
Even something like making someone a cup of tea can make you a community resilience volunteer!
