Please see the below for further detail on the event, any questions please do not hesitate to reach out. I have attached an image that, if you wish, to share to your scheme’s Facebook pages- this will be greatly appreciated to assist with our aim of as much reach as possible.
Volunteering Discovery Event
Come along to our Volunteering Discovery Event and learn how volunteers play a pivotal role in providing a first-class service to the communities in Kent, meet our community policing equine and canine volunteers, cadet leaders, police support volunteers and special constables. Discover what they do, why they do it, and how you can get involved.
Volunteering will give you an enhanced understanding of how policing operates in Kent, enable you to improve on or maintain your existing skills and above all, by helping to keep our county safe, it can give you a real sense of achievement.
Police support volunteers | Kent Police
Police Support Volunteers work alongside the many differing departments that form Kent Police, in office based, non-operational settings, providing assistance with computer-based project work and administration support.
Special constable | Kent Police
Special constables, or Specials for short, form the Special Constabulary. Special Constables are volunteer Police Officers who undertake a wide variety of frontline, operational and non-operational, police work alongside a range of specialisms. Specials wear the same uniform, carry the same equipment, and hold the same powers as full time police officers.
Community Policing Volunteer (CPV) | Kent Police
Community Policing Volunteers, also referred to as CPV’s, provide different arms of support to the operational needs of Kent Police. Volunteer PCSOs, Equine Volunteers, Canine Crime Volunteers and Security Volunteers are the many varieties of Kent Police CPV.
Cadet leaders support the cadet scheme by helping to run sessions and provide support and encouragement to young people to enhance their development as a Police Cadet.
