Historic Military Vehicles Bring Remembrance to Life in Faversham

We’re delighted to welcome Colin Parsons, whose support and passion for veterans and the community is truly inspiring.

It’s always a real privilege to share these two incredible tracked vehicles — a Spartan and a similar model — both of which began their service back in 1975 in Hereford, Germany.

Over the years, they’ve seen duty in Bosnia, Iraq, and many other places as peacekeeping vehicles. Every year, I’m proud to invite around 12 to 15 veterans to come down and drive them — some even get behind the wheel of the exact same vehicle they operated over 40 years ago. Seeing their faces light up is something truly special.

A big thank you to Chris and Joy for all their tireless work with the Royal British Legion and the Poppy Appeal, and to all the community groups involved in Remembrance Day, whose dedication keeps the spirit of remembrance alive.

And of course, a heartfelt thanks to everyone in Faversham for your continued support. My wife Tessa and I love being part of the local events and community spirit here — it means the world to us.
