Faversham Town Council is proud to announce that it has successfully been awarded the prestigious Gold Award by the National Association of Local Councils for the second time, having achieved it initially in 2019.
This esteemed accolade reflects the council’s continued commitment to excellence and its status as a leader in Community Governance, Leadership, and Performance Management.
The Gold Award, previously known as Quality Gold, is the highest achievement within NALC’s Local Council Award Scheme, recognising councils that meet exceptional standards in governance, engagement, and operational performance.
The Mayor of Faversham, Cllr Josh Rowlands, expressed pride in the achievement, saying “Being awarded the NALC Gold Award for the second time is a testament to the dedication of the council and its officers. This recognition reflects our commitment to continuous improvement, collaboration, and delivering real benefits to the community.”
The council’s innovative projects, such as the Faversham & District Community Lottery, Hopper Community Bus and the Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan were highlighted as exemplars of its forward-thinking approach.
The Deputy Mayor, Cllr Claire Martin added “This award motivates us to keep setting high standards and leading by example in local government. We are proud to serve Faversham and look forward to continuing to build a sustainable, inclusive, and vibrant community.”
The Gold Award reinforces Faversham Town Council’s position at the forefront of best practices nationwide, showcasing its ability to adapt, innovate, and excel in serving its residents.
