Faversham Achieves Pesticide-Free Town Status

Faversham Town Council is proud to announce that it has officially been recognised as a Pesticide-Free Town by Pesticide Action Network UK (PAN UK). This prestigious status reflects the Council’s commitment to creating a healthier environment by eliminating the use of harmful pesticides.

A Healthier, Greener Faversham

Since the launch of the Faversham Pesticide-Free Town Action Plan in 2020, the Council has worked diligently to implement eco-friendly practices. Key achievements include:

  • Eliminating chemical pesticides allotments.
  • Promoting natural alternatives and sustainable maintenance methods.
  • Engaging local residents and businesses to raise awareness about the environmental and health impacts of pesticides.

A Collaborative Effort

The success of this initiative has been driven by strong community involvement and collaboration with local environmental groups. Faversham’s residents have shown tremendous support, embracing the vision of a cleaner, safer town for all.

Cllr Hannah Perkin, who has led on this work said “as a community, we have worked hard together to reduce or remove pesticide use from our allotments, our gardens and our roads. Huge thanks to Pan UK for their ongoing support”
