COGS -AgeUK Faversham

What is a COGS Club?
Age UK Faversham and Sittingbourne run a COGS Club for those living with moderate to mild Dementia, providing support, stimulating activities and fun, as well as a chance to socialise with others.

The club runs using Cognitive Stimulation Therapy, which involves actively stimulating and engaging people whilst in a group setting, to improve their memories. According to dementia & psychology specialists at University College London, the effects of people being treated with CST appear to be comparable with those treated with anti-dementia drugs.

Whilst the day is focused around providing a supportive atmosphere and activities for clients, it can also provide respite for friends and family and can make caring responsibilites more manageable.

When do the COGS Clubs run?

Currently, we run two clubs, one from our Faversham centre and one from our Sittingbourne centre.

Our Faversham COGS club runs on Wednesday and Friday.

Our Sittingbourne COGS club runs on Friday.
