Counter Terrorism Policing Summer Vigilance Campaign launch 2025

The summer campaign toolkit is now live on ProtectUK: Summer Campaign Digital Toolkit | ProtectUK.

The toolkit includes messages and creative assets designed to be used by event organisers and businesses to encourage the public to stay alert and report anything that doesn’t feel right to the police or security. These include posters, social media videos, images for big screens, website messaging and more. There is also content tailored to specific events, including sports, fan zones and Pride.

We have included a variety of new assets for 2025 which are also available to download for free. These include specific rugby assets in our sports content portfolio, an email signature graphic and a digital audio recording promoting our vigilance messaging.

Our campaigns are a powerful way to use security-minded communications to add a layer of protective security and we’re asking for your support again to share this key message with your networks and contacts.

Our #BeSafeBeSound campaign is also part of the summer campaign, designed specifically for festivals and live music events appealing to its fans and supporters. Since its launch in 2019, we’ve had continued support from the likes of Glastonbury, BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend, the O2 and many more to reassure and build confidence in reporting suspicious behaviour to security.

We’re encouraging partners to support by:

–        Downloading and using the toolkit on their available channels – online or on-site at no costs to the organisation. We have created specific creative assets to support sporting activities, including football, cricket, fan zones, and pride events that are taking place across the country.

–        Encouraging staff and volunteers to take the free online ACT Awareness e-learning training – it’s free and takes about 45 minutes

–        Share our social media content on their channels as part of the security-minded communications to prime their audiences with the safety messages before they visit the location.

–        Tell us how they’re supporting the campaign, share photos and screenshots along with feedback on any thoughts we could consider for the future – we’re always keen to hear from our CT network.

If you have any questions, drop us a line at nctphq.comms@met.police.co.uk

Thanks again for all your support. Action Counters Terrorism.
