To allow patching and lining works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A251 Ashford Road, Faversham, Sheldwich, Badlesmere & A251 Faversham Road, Challock.
Closures are planned from 24th November 2026 with estimated completion by 28th November 2026, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00, or where stated on a valid Permit. The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signage displayed on site and the
works will be displayed on One.Network
A251 Ashford Road & Faversham Road will be closed between the junctions with A2 Canterbury Road, Faversham and A252 Canterbury Road, Challock, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while patching and lining works are undertaken by Kent County Council.
The alternative route for vehicles travelling southbound is via A2 Canterbury Road, London Road, Brenley Corner Roundabout, A2 Boughton Bypass, A2050 Harbledown Bypass, Rheims Way, St Peters Roundabout, Rheims Way, A28 Wincheap Green, Thanington Road, Ashford
Road, Canterbury Road, A252 Maidstone Road, The Street and Canterbury Road.
The alternative route for vehicles travelling northbound is via A252 Canterbury Road, The Street, Maidstone Road, A28 Canterbury Road, Ashford Road, Thanington Road, A2 Boughton Bypass, Brenley Corner Roundabout, A2 London Road and Canterbury Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
