(PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
To allow connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of A2 Canterbury Road, Faversham.
A closure is planned from 22nd July 2024, with estimated completion by 27th July 2024, between the hours of 21.00 and 05.00, or where stated on a valid Permit (XV014ASSET025493-CR-04 – Global Utility Connections). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signage displayed on site and the works will be displayed on One.Network
A2 Canterbury Road will be closed between Preston Lane and Preston Grove, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
After 27th July 2024, works will be completed under two-way lights between the hours of 08.00 and 17.00, with estimated completion by 4th August 2024.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while connection works are undertaken by Global Utility Connections.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via A2 Canterbury Road, Brenley Corner Roundabout (A2 M2 J7 Roundabout), A2 Boughton Bypass, A2050 Harbledown Bypass, Rheims Way, Wincheap Green, A28 Wincheap, A28 Thanington Road, A28 Ashford Road, A28 Canterbury Road, A251 Faversham Road, A251 Ashford Road, A251 North Street, A251 Ashford Road, A2 Canterbury Road.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.
