Faversham Joins the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence
Whitstable & District Soroptimists, Faversham Town Council, and SATEDA are coming together to raise awareness and stand united against gender-based violence as part of the global 16 Days of Activism campaign.
To mark the start of the campaign, Faversham Town Hall will be lit orange for the full 16 days.
Orange symbolises hope, representing a brighter future free from violence and fear.
Light Switch-On Ceremony
On Tuesday 25th November at 4.45pm, a small ceremony will take place outside the Town Hall to mark the beginning of the 16 Days of Activism.
The event will include a speech from the Mayor of Faversham, along with representatives from Soroptimist International Whitstable & District and SATEDA, who will officially light the Town Hall orange.
What is the 16 Days of Activism?
The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is a global campaign held annually from 25 November (International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) to 10 December (Human Rights Day).
It encourages communities around the world to raise awareness, spark conversations, and take meaningful action to end violence against women and girls.

Soroptimist International is a global volunteer movement dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls through education, empowerment, and advocacy.
