KENT COUNTY COUNCIL Various Roads, Swale (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 TEMPORARY ORDER MAY 2024



To allow survey, installation and maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on various roads in Swale.

Closures are planned from 13th May 2024, with estimated completion by 22nd June 2024. The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signage displayed on site and the works will be displayed on One.Network

WORKS SCHEDULE
The following roads will require 2 phases of works, the initial phase below will be for survey works only. This will be followed by a 5 week closure when the works will be carried out – these dates will be published in due course.

Yaugher Lane, Hartlip
Yaugher Lane, Hartlip will be closed from 13th May 2024, with estimated completion by 18th May 2024, between the hours of 20.00 and 06.00.
The road will be closed between Matts Hill and Meresborough Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Meresborough Lane, Place Lane, Warren Lane, Matts Hill and vice versa.

Vicarage Lane, Ospringe & Faversham
Vicarage Lane, Ospringe & Faversham will be closed from 20th May 2024, with estimated completion by 25th May 2024, between the hours of 20.00 and 06.00.
The road will be closed between Brogdale Road and Water Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Brogdale Road (Eastling Road), A2 London Road, Ospringe Street, Water Lane and vice versa.

Warren Lane, Hartlip
Warren Lane, Hartlip will be closed from 28th May 2024, with estimated completion by 1st June 2024, between the hours of 20.00 and 06.00.
The road will be closed between Matts Hill and Place Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Matts Hill, Yaugher Lane, Meresborough Lane, Place Lane and vice versa.

Bull Lane, Newington & Stockbury Bull Lane, Newington & Stockbury will be closed from 28th May 2024, with
estimated completion by 1st June 2024, between the hours of 20.00 and 06.00.

The road will be closed between Cowstead Road and Old House Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Old House Lane, Lower Hartlip Road, Cowstead Road and vice versa.

Primrose Lane, Bredgar
Primrose Lane, Bredgar will be closed from 3rd June 2024, with estimated completion by 4th June 2024, between the hours of 07.00 and 17.00.
The road will be closed between Medlar Close and Rookery Close, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Bredgar Road, Hearts Delight Road, Bannister Hill, Borden Lane, A2 London Road, Key Street, Key Street roundabout, A249 Maidstone Road, Stockbury roundabout, Sittingbourne Road, Detling Hill, Bearsted Road, New Cut Road, A20 Ashford Road, B2163 Eyhorne Street, Upper Street, Hollingbourne Hill, Court Dane Shaws, Swanton Street, The Street and vice versa.

Painters Forstal Road & Water Lane, Ospringe
Painters Forstal Road & Water Lane, Ospringe will be closed from 3rd June
2024, with estimated completion by 8th June 2024, between the hours of 20.00 and 06.00.
The road will be closed between Abbotts Hill and Hansletts Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Eastling Road, Whitehill (Eastling Road), Brogdale Road, A2 London Road, Ospringe Street, Water Lane and vice versa.

Salters Lane, Faversham
Salters Lane, Faversham will be closed from 5th June 2024, with estimated completion by 7th June 2024, between the hours of 07.00 and 17.00.
The road will be closed between A2 Canterbury Road and A251 Ashford Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for vehicles is via A2 Canterbury Road, A251 Ashford Road and vice versa.

Brogdale Road, Faversham & Ospringe
Brogdale Road, Faversham & Ospringe will be closed from 10th June 2024, with estimated completion by 14th June 2024, between the hours of 20.00 and 06.00.
The road will be closed between Tettenhall Way and Porters Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Whitehill (Eastling Road), Eastling Road, The Street, Otterden Road, Bunce Court Road, Warren Street, Rayners Hill, A20 Ashford Road, Maidstone Road, A252 Charing Hill, Canterbury Road, Faversham Road, Ashford Road, A2 Canterbury Road, London Road and vice versa.

Champion Court Road, Newnham
Champion Court Road, Newnham will be closed from 10th June 2024, with estimated completion by 14th June 2024, between the hours of 20.00 and 06.00.
The road will be closed between Sharsted Hill and Straight Hill, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Sharsted Hill, The Street, Faversham Road, Straight Hill and vice versa. Vigo Lane, Bredgar and Borden

Vigo Lane, Bredgar and Borden will be closed from 17th June 2024, with estimated completion by 22nd June 2024, between the hours of 20.00 and 06.00.
The road will be closed between Oad Street and Stiff Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Stiff Street, Deans Hill, Deans Hill Road, Silver Street, Gore Road, Primrose Lane, Bredgar Road, Hearts Delight Road, Wrens Road, Sutton Baron Road, Pond Farm Road and vice versa.

The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while survey, installation and maintenance works are undertaken by National Highways.
