Faversham in the Forties

The Town Council invites you to Faversham in the Forties, a special event celebrating the sights, sounds, and spirit of 1940s Britain in the heart of Faversham. This family-friendly event also proudly marks Armed Forces Day, honouring the service and sacrifice of past and present members of the armed forces.

What to Expect:

  • Living history displays and re-enactors bringing the 1940s vividly to life
  • Music and dancing from the era, including swing, jazz, and big band favourites
  • Vintage vehicles, authentic costumes, and nostalgic displays
  • Fun for all ages, immersing visitors in the unforgettable atmosphere of wartime Faversham
  • A special celebration of Armed Forces Day, providing an opportunity to remember, reflect, and say thank you to those who have served and continue to serve

Visitors are encouraged to dress in wartime or vintage outfits and join in the music, dancing, and community spirit for a memorable experience.

A huge thank you to the Year 5 pupils at Hernehill Primary School for their fantastic designs created for Faversham in the Forties Celebrates Armed Forces Day!

We are delighted to be displaying these fabulous pieces of artwork as part of the event décor, helping to make the day even more special.
