Faversham Open Gardens & Garden Market Day, one of the largest one day open garden events in the UK, is being held on Sunday 26th June 10am-5pm. There are 30 gardens open, from historic walled gardens to gardens behind modern homes, community gardens, a tiny courtyard packed with plants, long thin gardens, wildlife-friendly Victorian terraces and Stonebridge Ponds Allotments, ‘the prettiest allotments in Britain.’
There are several gardens open for the first time, including Homestall House, a mature Georgian garden currently being restored after years of neglect. There is also a newly created small town garden which is a good example of how wildlife friendly you can be in an urban environment. And another new entry shows how a garden can be divided into distinct spaces for entertaining, growing food, children’s play and places to relax.
The garden market is a really popular feature of the day. Held in Faversham’s Medieval Market Place, there are 25+ stalls, selling plants, garden antiques and other gardening paraphernalia, plus delicious local bakes and ice-creams.
Many gardens are within walking distance and there are bikes for hire in four locations in the town.
Faversham is a charming historic market town with 500+ Listed Buildings, pubs, restaurants and cafes. It’s just over an hour from either London St Pancras or London Victoria stations, and is 5 minutes off Junction 6 of the M2, so it’s an accessible and delightful day out.
Over the past decade, Faversham Open Gardens & Garden Market Day has attracted thousands of garden lovers from all around the UK, and even from mainland Europe. We’re thrilled to be back after a two year break due to Covid.

Cost
£6.00 per adult (£10.00 for two) which covers all gardens.
Tickets available in advance from end of May from the Visitor Information Centre, 12 Market Place, and on the day from a market stall in the Market Place.
Tickets will also be available via their online store from the end of May.
