Meet the Ladies of the Tudor Court

Step into the splendour of the Tudor court and meet an elegant gathering of noble ladies, each beautifully dressed in historically inspired Tudor gowns. With their exquisite French hoods, richly embroidered fabrics, sparkling jewels, and flowing velvet sleeves, they bring the glamour and pageantry of the 16th century vividly to life.

As you explore, you’ll have the opportunity to meet these fascinating characters, hear stories of court life, discover the etiquette, fashion, and intrigue of Henry VIII’s England, and experience history through engaging conversation and authentic living history performances.

Step into the Viking spirit as the expert team from Naughty Norse guides you through the basics of safe axe throwing before you take on the challenge yourself. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to sharpen your skills, it’s a fun and memorable experience for all brave enough to give it a go.

No booking required – simply head to the Naught Norse arena on the Front Brents Car park and enjoy this free activity throughout the event.

Paladins of Chivalry

Travel back to the 14th century with the Paladins of Chivalry, a captivating living history re-enactment society bringing the medieval world to life.

Explore their authentic medieval encampment, complete with traditional canvas tents, impressive armour displays, and fascinating weaponry demonstrations. Meet experienced re-enactors, discover what life was like for knights and soldiers, and learn about the equipment, skills, and traditions of the Middle Ages.

Throughout the day, enjoy interactive displays including medieval dancing, a Dress a Knight demonstration, and a fun-filled Kiddies’ Battle, where young warriors can safely join the action using soft foam swords made from pipe lagging. It’s a fantastic hands-on experience for families, history enthusiasts, and aspiring knights of all ages.

Merryman the Jester

Keep an eye out for Merryman the Jester, bringing laughter, mischief, and medieval merriment to the whole family throughout the day.

With quick wit, playful antics, juggling, comedy, and plenty of audience participation, Merryman roams the event entertaining visitors of all ages. From cheeky jokes and spontaneous performances to delightful encounters around every corner, there’s always a chance to be part of the fun.

Frodi the Moneyer

Step into the world of medieval craftsmanship with Frodi the Moneyer, where history isn’t just something you watch, it’s something you create.

Discover the fascinating art of medieval coin striking as Frodi, dressed as a traditional moneyer, demonstrates a craft that dates back over a thousand years. Then it’s your turn to step up, take the hammer, and strike your very own coin using hand-engraved dies inspired by authentic medieval designs.

Perfect for visitors of all ages, this hands-on experience offers a unique chance to take home a keepsake you’ve made yourself while uncovering the stories behind one of history’s most essential trades. We’re delighted to welcome the Sandwich Medieval Centre to our event! Come along and chat with the team about the exciting activities, workshops, and events that take place at the centre throughout the year. It’s a great opportunity to learn more about Sandwich’s rich medieval heritage and discover what’s on offer for visitors of all ages.

You’ll also have the chance to enjoy delicious tasters and purchase traditional mead, making it the perfect stop for history enthusiasts and food lovers alike.
