Coaches to be able to park at Macknade for FREE once again!

Coach companies are gearing up to add Faversham back to their itineraries with FREE parking on offer for coaches and FREE hot drinks for drivers once they have dropped their passengers off at the drop off point in Central Car Park.

Swale Borough Council and Faversham Town Council have been working hard behind the scenes to re‐instate FREE parking at Macknade, just outside of town on the Selling Road.

Starting on 1st December, the facility will be available seven days a week, and by scanning a QR code to check‐in coach drivers can grab a FREE hot drink when they arrive at Macknade to park while their passengers are enjoying the wealth of independent shops, cafes, pubs and heritage attractions that Faversham Town Centre has to offer.

Coach companies may also wish to drop their passengers at Macknade’s Flagship Food Hall with products ranging from fresh breads and exotic fruits, to teabags and craft beers, before taking them into Faversham and returning to park up and enjoying a FREE hot drink.

Thanks to funding from Swale Borough Council’s Visitor Economy Framework this facility will be available from 1st December 2021, and the Mayor of Faversham, Cllr Alison Reynolds BEM, comments: “We are delighted to have been able to re‐instate this FREE service for coach companies and are looking forward to welcoming back coach passengers to the Port and Town of Faversham, medieval market town of Kings. It’s always lovely to see visitors, old and new, returning to enjoy the rich heritage that Faversham has to offer, and have Faversham included once again on the itineraries of coach companies far and wide.”
